Article about Inclusive Learning

Inclusive learning is very important for the development of special needs children, mentally, psychologically, and emotionally.

To let our classroom be inclusive we should work first on the special needs child, qualifying him first like teaching him Braille if he is blind, or signs language if he is deaf, also it is better for him to undergo psychological support to accept his disability. Then, we should work on parents, they should be a bond, not a hindrance for their son, they should accept his situation. Then we should work on the school itself, is it qualified to receive people with special needs, is there a way for a wheelchair child to pass from it, is there an floor classroom or an elevator for him.

Now, after we have qualified the special needs child, his parents, and the school, we can welcome him to our class, if he is vision impaired, as an example, we should let him sit on the first desk, so he can hear us well and see from the board if he a low vision child. Also, if he deaf, we should sit him on the first desk to see our lips movement to know what we said, also we should speak slowly. In general, it is better to let special needs sit at the first desk, in the center of class.

Inclusion is when we don't let any child behind, so we should also focus on the inclusive activities that all our students can engage in.

Do you have a special needs student in your class?
